Went for dinner. The food was nice but a bit spicy. We didn't think the food was as authentic as we hoped. The food portions were ok. The staff were really friendly and nice. We would go again and try different dishes.
Visited here for the third time today and noticed their rebranding to Pasta Khan. I was relieved that it was still the same great place, now with a confusing name.
I ordered the Khan's Secret Spaghetti, which used to be called Achchiq Chop. It had the classic Uyghur lamb with hand pulled noodles and this is a must try. Please note that the 2 chilli symbols on the menu are incorrect and it should be 1 chilli, ie, not very spicy at all.
I have also included a photo of the Lamb Ribs Pilaf, but I didn't try this. I ate this during a previous trip and it was delicious.
Overall, this is a great place to visit and it suits the noodle lovers, as well as those who enjoy Turkish or Persian food. It is halal, therefore they do not serve alcohol. For those with accessibility needs, there is a ramp to the side of the main entrance and you can use that to get in.
To the restaurant, I absolutely love the food and will definitely be back. This being said, I'm not a fan of the recent rebranding, eg, calling the food spaghetti or pasta just isn't right.
We had tried this restaurant many years ago when they were still located in Little Lonsdale St right across from QV. This new shop is slightly bigger and more modern. We were excited to finally try it again as we had a great experience the last time we ate there. Ordered two of their recommended dishes which is the stir fry noodle with chilli and lamb kebab. However it is not as flavourful as what we remembered. It seems to be lacking that extra spices or herbs which is the cornerstone of Uyghur cuisine. We also ordered the stir fry chopped noodles for our kid which she likes as it wasn't spicy, tasted light so it's easy to eat. The service is friendly and food comes out pretty quick.

Lamb skewers are the best here.
Except chilli chicken all the other dishes are good.
Chicken chilli has too many chillies in it.
Sweet yogurt saved the life
We have tried the food from this restaurant long time back but it was on the little lonsdale st. It was good and thought of having it again and no regret at all.
You have to book the table earlier to get in since they are full house during dinner.
Anything they mark as MUST TRY, definitely MUST TRY and won’t regret (at least for us).
We ordered Achchig chop - stir fry flat thin noodles MUST TRY, didn’t expect would be so good but oh my.. it is very good. The consistency of the noodle is perfect, the spices mixed well with the meat (we chose beef) and the noodles. It was mild spicy level, my son could have it fine. They used dried chilli. Yes, it’s definitely a MUST TRY. The regret was we should have ordered two since one portion not enough for 5 (we thought it just for tasting).
Another MUST TRY, Zip Kawap - charcoal lamb skewer. This is SUPERB! I am not a fan of lamb as it could have the smell. But the lamb skewer is perfectly marinated and grilled so no smell. The meat is tender and juicy. It’s perfect to be eaten right after they served or while it’s hot. One portion has 4 skewers, we ordered a lot 🤪
Bayun - spicy lamb neck, this is good dish too, and even the best if the meat could be a bit more softer. The soup is tasty.
Gosh Nan - the pastry stuffed with beef meat, it was good too but average.
Dumpling, we ordered chicken and prawn, that’s just average, so so.
Koktat Kormisi - sautéed Bokchoy with Chinese mushrooms, is also average. The bokchoy probably better to be cut a bit smaller.
Overall the portion is quite big.
The ambience is great too, though it’s traditional food yet the restaurant looks modern.
The people are very friendly and full of smile while serving us.
Definitely will come again.
Food and service here was great. My usual at an Uygur restaurant is to have their handmade noodles with a stir fry (e.g. korma Lagman - though it was called something different here). And to me - they did this well. I also enjoyed their dumplings, skewers and the pastry as well.
Great work and it's a place I know I can visit next time in Melbourne.
It's halal as well - so #halaleats
Its our favourite place to go everytime. The food is always delicious and consistent with the quality and taste. They also made sure to accomodate us as we were carrying a pram to make the entry and seating super easy.
💯🔥
It's hard to find Uyghur cuisine in the city, one close to my place had closed …
